The rulers available on Amazon are from HQ, Creative Grids and Dream Stitch. I have not yet purchase any of the Creative Grids or Dream Stitches for my Babylock Tiara II, but I plan to.

Check with your machine dealer for shank info for your machine.

I’m a newbie with fmq. I purchased a few rulers and i’m still on a learning curve. Really like Angela Walters straight ruler. Nice size to work with.

My best tip for ruler work is to keep your eye on the foot/needle area. With other FMQ, I keep my eye ahead of the needle to where I'm going, but with rulers, I find if I do that in anticipation of where the needle will be going, I often get away from the ruler. You need to keep the foot up against the edge of your ruler.

Another tip is about your practice sandwich. You don't have to have a fresh sandwich for every practice. Just put a fresh topper fabric on your sandwich.

I found that a 90/14 quilting needle seems to work best for me.
