MY sewing machine needs a tune up and cleanings. do i take it to a dealer or repair place. I am fairly new to the area and am not familiar with anyone here. What should like I look for?

Your manual should give you some instructions on removing lint and oiling your machine. Or go online and type in Cleaning a sewing machine and you will get tips on how to keep it running smoothly. After the first time, it will be easier to do it yourself, I understand sewing machine dealers often have a special so watch for that. It is a good thing to know how to take care of the machine yourself. Not as hard as it looks.
Look in your manual for tips.

you might want to check with your LQS - ours has a service person who comes in from out of town one day a week - or they may have suggestions of someone local
