I have it and use it daily. I've quilted up to a jumbo queen on it. In my mind it is a good machine. I ordered mine from All Brands and have had no problems. I know nothing about frames so I can't comment on that part. Here is what the machine costs from All Brands.

The absolute only downside to the machine for me is it is straight stitch only. I like to applique and have to drag out my other machine to do it. If you plan to keep it on a frame and only quilt with it, I don't see that being a problem.
The machine is pretty heavy. I don't think I'd want to drag it to classes very much, but I don't do that so it's not a problem.
I love the needle down. I'd never had that before and now I think it is an essential thing.
I have never used a frame but you can really cram a lot of quilt through the throat space. My FMQ is not very good, but that is not a machine problem. I've seen people who are good at it do wonderful stuff with the same machine. I'm just not all that artistic. Meandering is about as good as I get at this point.
I can't think of another machine in the price range that I would trade mine for.

I have both that machine and frame (New Joy). I got mine used for half that price from someone who sewed maybe 100 stitches on it. I took it off the frame and put my Janome 1600 on it, they're basically the same machine but the Brother came with an extension table, so I decided to use it for piecing instead. It's my favorite machine - but I never used it for quilting.

I bought mine from allbrands about six months ago. I bought it just for the purpose of machine quilting. I admit I haven't used it very much. But sure feels like a sturdy machine and does stitch very fast while I had it on the Ken Lund quilting frame.

Concrads, the green glow from the west is me envying you. I do not have a frame but I do have the machine. I love it. Like others I use it for both free motion and piecing. The machine itself is very powerful. I use to fight my old machine to get over seam intersections, now it sails over without any hesitation. The machine itself is noisier than the electronic ones but that doesn't bother me at all. Have fun with your new toy. Be sure and let us know what you think of the frame.
