I'm thinking of making a rag quilt, and what i'm wondering is this. Those of you that have used rag quilts, after it's been washed several times, does lint continue to keep shedding. For instance, if you have a rag quilt on your bed, and you lay down on top of it, is the lint going to shed to what you're wearing? I just think they look so nice, but was wondering about the practical aspect of it, thanks guys :)

My sister made me one last year for Christmas, (because she knows that the quilter is usually the last to get one, so she thought that she would help me out, she doesn't do much sewing even let alone quilting) It is a really cool one that is done in circles, It was washed before getting here, but other when it is in the washer and dryer, I don't get anything off of it when using it. Even when it was on the couch before it got put on the bed, no one was walkling around with blue, red or green fluff on them, Though I imagine that there is some fabrics that tend to pick up more lint than others.

Oh thank you, that answers my question for sure then. Wow, that was so nice of your sister, isn't it true, we never make one for ourselves :)

I imagine that you can probably go and tell her yourself, I have three sisters that live in Mission. She underestimated the fabric that she needed and had to run all over the place to find some that matched, and of course she picked on of the hardest patterns to do, She did most of it herself, Mom and sisters helped out a bit so that she could get it done on time.

I spent my teen years in Surrey, I got back every so often as sis and parents are still there. I have not lived in BC for about 13 years. I lived on the island before coming here to AB
