What do all these abbreviations mean?

Hi, my name is Connie and I am new to the Quilting Board. Is there a guide to all these abbreviations I keep seeing in the threads? Sometimes I don't have a clue about what's going on. Please help! Thanks

The abbreviations drive me crazy but guess it is the new modern way now. Welcome to the board from Coos Bay, Oregon

It's just easier to write D9P instead of disappearing 9 patch, OBW instead of one block wonder, HST instead of half-square triangles.... I like to think of the abbreviations as the quilting world's marital or family language.

Welcome to the board from NW Ohio.

I printed out the lists of abbreviations like QuiltnNan posted above. Then I can refer to them when I run across a abbreviation I don't know what it means.
