Default Fabric that Pills

Do you find that some brands of solid colours pill more than other fabrics? I decided to enlarge my OBW (I'll post it when I finish the binding) and after I removed the binding I found that the solid border had a lot of pilling. I'm pretty confident it was 100% cotton. This quilt is only 2 years old and has minimal use, one season on the bed.
It makes me wonder about the other fabrics that are printed and perhaps don't show this pilling as easily. MaryKatherine

If your solid was broadcloth, it generally has some polyester in it, therefore more apt to pill.

Did you do a burn test to see if your fabric was 100% cotton?

So good to see you are enlarging your OBW .... wonder where you found the material

ITA with the others and would be suspicious of it not being 100%.
From what I understand it's the blends that are "pills"!

Maybe the quilt reno is a blessing in disguise because of the pilling?

100 percent cotton is not a always a gaurentee that fabric will not pill. I have purchased 100 percent cotton that pilled. .. and in fact receintly purchased some very high thread count 100 percent cotton sheets only to have them pill on the first wash. The lenght of the fibers used has more to do with pilling. Short fibers used in the twist and weave are more the culprit.
