Default What to do?

I inherited several 9" blocks. Half square triangles. Each one is blue and has white for the other half. The blues are different but each has a white side. What can I do with them?

Since it's an odd number you may have to add to them but this is what I came up with off the top of my head:

Make a small baby quilt
Use them in a large scrappy
Add more blocks for a scrappy mountain majesties: http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/...majesties.html
Make a few more to make large pinwheels
Turn them into hourglass blocks

Let us know what you decide to go with!

How many is "several"?

When my Mom died, I took some of the unfinished items that she had around - now I am wondering - "Why in the world did I bring that stuff home?"

I have no interest in doing anything with them now.

You can mix blues and whites and make more half square triangles to get a size you want. You don't have to use the same white; you can mix up the whites as well as the blues. You can also add sashing to increase size.

Do you have enough to do the Dissappearing Hourglass pattern and make a table or bed runner?

Some of Jenny Doan's patterns look hard and are beautiful, but are quite easy to make. There are five disappearing pinwheel patterns, all of which are cute. I have a way to do no. 6 and am making the center of a round robin with that. Find Missouri Star Quilt Tutes and you will find lots of ideas.

If you want to use just these, you might make a table runner. Those colors would be nice in the winter time.

I kept several of my mothers ufo's and am so glad I did. I waited a couple years before pulling them out and finishing them. They are a treasure to me now. Perhaps you could offer some to other quilters to finish in honor of your Mom if you don't wish to do them all.
