Send those B&W strips to me and forget about making a quilt. Oh, wait, I guess that didn't address your question. (I'm collecting B&W fabrics for a future quilt.) At a local quilt show I saw a collection of quilts that were made in a "black and white plus one color" challenge. Each quilt was stunning -- there was B&W with lime green, B&W with pink, B&W with purple. So, my suggestion is use any pattern with a few additions of color for "pop" factor.
