I have quite enough quilts for my own use but can never resist making just one more. My family have as many as they want. I do make quilts for the Linus Project as well and I get real satisfaction out of that. How many do you have and what do you do with them? I'm talking about finished quilts!

Most of the quilts I have made since I started 4 years ago have gone to family, friends and charities. I have 5 that I made, but I have several planned that I will keep. My DD and DSIL just asked for a new one since they moved into a new house and are decorating their bedroom. I also have a new grandaughter coming next month, so....

I don't actually finish enough quilts to have any extras. However, if I did, I would make a raffle quilt for each of my favorite charities every year.

So far the quilts and projects that I am making are for myself. I am working on a quilt for kids for the Downy program.

The kit includes the pattern.

anyone can make these as they send you the kit everything but the thread and batting, you make it and mail it back to them (so you just pay for the thread, batting and return postage)

I just sent two donation quilts to ALS organization, I also have two Downey quilts finished to mail out, I have two great-nieces with quilts ready for them. My quilting buddy and I work together and started making quilts for all our co-workers when they turn fifty. We have also made quilts for all the co-workers newborns. I have a few I have made for myself and hubby. Both my boys have special quilts. I have made my mom three, my dog has one( which is big, she is 136pds). I'm definitly a busy quilter, I have made a couple picture memorial quilts as well. I have only been quilting about three or four years. I caught the quilt bug!!!

I don't have that problem. :cry: Everything I've made has either gone to family, friends, or charities. I'm just getting around to being able to do something for myself. I do have quilts from my Grandmother and my husbands mother that are in storage though. We've been trying to figure out if we want to display these or keep them stored to preserve them.

I have always given all my crafts away. I have knitted, crocheted, macramed, cross-stitched, etc. The only thing I have to show for it is a couple of macrame hangers.

I can see the same thing happening with quilting. But that's OK! I love seeing the expressions on people's faces when they receive a home-made gift from me.

Once while we were on vacation, I was making a macrame hanger on the deck in the evening while we were sitting around a fire. I have difficulty just sitting without doing something. I feel as though I am wasting time.

The woman was in awe over it. I ended up giving it to her and she was so appreciative of it.

I give mine away too! Someday, I want todo two for me, an animal one and a 30's. So far mine have been gifts or for charities to raffle. Would love to do project linus, ect, just lack the time!
