I have trouble finding just the right red. Whether it is batik or other.

I agree. Lights, pastels. I hunted for a month to find a light yellow. The ones I saw were either too bright or too gold.

I'm like Ghostrider. I have 4 local shops that carry beautiful batiks. If I can't find something at one, I can usually find it at another.
That being said I'd still like to thank the berson who posted a Superbowl sale on here and "helped" me purchase 12 yards of batiks online. Fabric Depot and I could become VERY GOOD friends...

Happy Quilting,
Susan

While walking through Hobby Lobby one day past the head scarves, I found every color I would want so I bought them. Cheaper than yard goods too. I used them for a Hawaiian quilt and cut them up when I need a batik.

Reds and blacks. If I can't find a pastel by the yard I buy the baktic ombre which gives me all the shades of a color.

I agree that lights are quite hard to find, the most I find are in my daughter's stash and she doesn't have many, LOL. Red is what I find next hardest to find, true bright red, not rusty, or maroony. How's that for a word?
