I have been making a Kay Woods strip quilt as you go. I'm using up all my fancy blouse silky materials, top and bottom. It is turning out OK. It is about the size of a small lap quilt now, but I am still working on it. As much material as I have it could be a King size by the time I run out of materials.

I did a quilt this way, figuring the seams would be 'padded' by the batting and wouldn't be a problem. The only problem I ran into was when I pressed it (after all blocks were put together) I discovered that a lot of the thread had melted. I was using polyester serger thread but was ironing with cotton setting on iron.

I made one year ago on my serger (log cabin). It turned out great. It went together fast and it is used a lot and has held up beautifully.
