oh, if only my dear Grandma was still with us, I remember hearing her spin-n-sputter as she undressed each night!! She lived to be 103 and still insisted on wearing that blasted thing!!! Thanks for making my memories swirl and give me a giggle!

Very nice...and those are the old boxes with the metal closures. My mom has one of those. I have a newer one with a plastic closure and it never stays closed!

I am laughing so hard! You made a GREAT find! Congrats! My husband recently surprised me with a great find he had made in our garage. He brought in several pieces of wonderful, puckery, shiny fabric he thought I could use in my quilting. He didn't know WHAT they were, and neither did I. He had found them in a box of my grandmother's things. I looked them over and discovered they were brand new GIRDLES! Ha ha on us!!! We laughed and laughed. I don't know WHAT I'll do with them, but I don't think I can use them in quilts!!!!!!!!

I remember wearing a girdle in high school and going to work. Mother made me! You were not properly dressed if you did not have on your girdle and hose. That was back in the 60's.
In the 90's I worked with a woman in her 70's that still wore her girdle every day to work.
I have thought about buying one to see if it would help my back feel better, but so far not found one big enough!! LOL!!!
