Here's my Cathedral Stars. I changed the colors up some as I didn't loved the red and black.

I think of jewel tones as deeper tones as opposed to brighter ones.

I had my colors done and stumped the consultant. She couldn't figure me out, LOL.

I had my colors done by a professional consultant in my 40s. Almost exclusively autumn, but enough high Irish coloring that she couldn't take away my black. She was surprised. As I have aged, black is no longer a good color for me.

Jewel colors have been well described here - strong, clear colors - I like them with black.

Yep...Did that! Actually it helped understand what colors looked best on me. I still have my fabric swatches...Turns out, the person who "did me" was totally correct. It was a great learning experience for me.

I think of jewel tones as being the colors of colored stones used in jewelry - ruby, emerald, sapphire, topaz and so forth. This could be describing fabric colors, but could just as easily be describing sweater colors or anything else.
