Wow, indeed! He's an artist! And his quilts are huge.
Beautiful indeed and even more interesting is what he sells them for! Click on “own one.” I can only imagine the time he has in one of his quilts.

Recently I wanted to make some six-sided OBW for a modern quilt I'm putting together but I grabbed the wrong ruler and made eight-sided instead. Still usable I guess, but not what I wanted, I wanted that more walnut shaped piece with the hex.

I made one about 15 years ago and it was a lot of fun, it happened that my favorite block didn't make it into the finished quilt because it didn't play well with the others.

I've seen a lot of them over the years and just have a couple words of advice: (1) make sure your base fabric has large enough/distinct pattern, if it is too small your work just disappears. (2) Beware the animal quilt, while they can be great quite often you end up with a lot of unusable images, unless you really wanted to make a point with horse behinds...

Excited to be taking an impromptu class from some friends this Friday on how to make these. We'll see how it works out.

Thanks, I'll have to have a read.

Not pocket change, that's for sure, but beautiful art work.
