look close at the black squares....they are the beginnings of a log cabin of sorts. each color is made up of 2 or 3 or 4 of those ( black ) squares. very simple to make but you do need a design wall to keep the colors straight when it comes to sewing the rows together!!

It's pretty close to Karen Combs' Shade Cascade pattern.

Thanks for finding us the pattern Patchitpat. This looks like an interesting one. I'm going to cut my own strips as I have a bin of each colour and never buy pre-cuts. I love the pattern but do wish they'd told us the size of the finished quilt.
