Question What is Quilt In A Day?

OK, I know this is probably a dumb question but I've googled and googled and not found out...
what is the Quilt In a Day method?

I live in the UK so I've not really come across Quilt In A Day before and to boot I'm a quilting newbie!

Can someone enlighten me pls? Is it a different technique not found elsewhere? Is it the same as Quilt-As-You-Go?

    thank you in advance!

"Quilt in a Day" is the name of a company not a technique. It is run by Eleanor Burns and sells many patterns and books, also has several you tube videos.

Here is their website, which may explain things more in-depth.

Exactly. Eleanor is great and wonderful patterns for beginners. Her instructions are very clear and step by step.

although I could not finish one in a day, many of her patterns can be done within a reasonable amount of time.

Yes, Eleanor Burns. She often shows methods for making a quilt that make it go together much faster. For example, she shows how to sew log cabin quilts without pre-cutting all the individual logs (you use strips of fabric instead).

If you're a newbie then Eleanor Burns of Quilt in a day company is terrific. AND to make sure you get off to a good start with your scraps... here's a gal I follow faithful. Bonnie K. Hunter. She was just in England.
http://quiltville.blogspot.com, and she's on Facebook too. has 2 pages. one called Quiltville Open Studio where we all post our projects etc. Bonnie & Eleanor are my very favorite gals.
and in England the Gourmet Quilter is sewing as she navigates the canals, while she lives on a boat. Check her out too.
