I'm making this panel into a wallhanging for my mom. I am adding a border or two, also.

Should I do some type of "waves" reminiscent of the ocean? Or feathers or what?

I can't anything too complicated, but I can handle simple designs.

Love that panel.. where did you find it...

My pastor SIL would love it..

Keep the quilting simple...feathers would be great...

I would do a floral or something green for the border. It will bring out the grass and not take away from all the blues going on there

I've seen the panel before at Hobby Lobby!

I got mine on ebay. I can't help though, I haven't decided how to quilt mine. I will be watching for suggestions because I don't want a lot of quilting that will take away from the saying.

This sounds like it would really add to the quilt - especially if they can be staggered so they look like walking from one step to the next.

I found a similar panel and wound up doing a plain back and outline stitched the main parts of the picture, so when the panel is reversed, the basics of the picture come through (without the wording). It turned out quite nice.

I would take clear thread and go over whatever you like inside the panel.
Then I would take light blue thread to match and do a simple pattern of a wave.

Believe it or not, I got it at Walmart a while back! It's really nice and thick, too.

Thanks, everyone for the ideas. Mom is going to love this!
