they are finger lights....we use red ones out at our astronomy observatory at night and yes the elastic is pretty tight.

The on/off switch can be wonky -- usually there is one setting to blink and another to stay on.

This is a great idea! I always try to give out something at Halloween other than candy. These sound like so much fun.
I think I will wear one on my finger when I give them out so the kids will know what they are.

If these lights open, there may be a paper or plastic separator on the battery to keep the charge neutral. Check and see.

Finger lights

They are finger lights and work great!
Especially when you are working with black or navy fabric.
The white band is a Velcro strap that goes around your finger of choice
and under it is the on/off switch. I have only one and use it while
sewing and while crocheting and love it. You are lucky to have so many!

From what I read, you put them on the thumb of your non-sewing hand to direct the light at what you are sewing.

One LQS suggested strapping it to your eyeglasses!
Also, that her husband scooped one quickly to wear like that when he was doing plumbing and needed light under the kitchen sink.

I was gullible and bought one ... and never got the knack of it on my glasses, around my finger or any other way tha I could figure it may work.

They are lights, there is a little knob on the top that will switch them off & on. I have one in my purse, because the interior of my purse is black & it is hard to see inside.
