This would be my choice. It frames that beautiful quilt center without over-powering it.

I would put a white border but quilt it with a variegated thread. Your quilt is beautiful!

I would go with a 1.5 inch border in red or multicolor, then a white 3 or more inch outside border. This is gorgeous!. Your work is grand! Piano key border is very busy and I don't think you will like it.

From QuiltE, "extend your Irish chain blocks into the border to complete the diamond of the chain. Then the rest of the border would be just the plain white background......" I agree, continue the diagnal line of little square and make the rest of the border white.

That is a beautiful quilt, I think that I would go with a small white border and if you want a little extra I think that I would do the second border with tiny colored blocks(same size and colors as in the quilt) alternating with the white, and then finish with another small white third border.

That would be great to finish it off the way you were stating in your post! YOu would be able to use up some of those left over scraps and add to the quilt's over all OMG look to boot.

i am new to this web site. This quilt is beautiful. My thoughts would be to have the borders done in the color you love the most. since every color is in this quilt, its all up to you... it is beautiful
