Randy that's a great idea!! I think I'll put that in my memory bank for next year. I've already started thinking of ideas. I work on Christmas stuff all year (inbetween other projects)

Hello everyone.....I did not make this table runner this year but wanted to share it with you as it is very easy to make. It is all HST's. I think you can see how they're put together in the picture. I even made a hot pad with the same pattern and cut the 4 corner squares into triangles to sort of round it off. It was neat.

Hi, Charlene my name is Annette and new to the message board and semi- beginner in quilting, I saw your message about the gifts you made for xmas will you please share with me how you made the detergent bottle apron. I live in Oklahoma City Oklahoma and the weather here is really bad our governor has declared a state of emergency our state is immobile. We have freezing rain and sleet making it impossible to drive. I'm going to use plain fabric .I guess i better get back to the machine. I do belong to a quilting guild in my city and thank God for Guilds.

    Thank you
    Annette

    HI JUDYJO!

I am a fairly new quilter.and I am wondering...what is an HST?? I love this beautiful runner picture that you posted.......but.what would the pattern be for someone who is new and doesn't really know how to make there own pattern>> I love to quilt, but have only been doing so for one year now (as of Jan.).....have made my son in Afghanistan a large (twin Plus size) quilt in RW&B, a baby quilt for a new grand-daughter, and a coup[le of table runners. I LOVE IT.....but I need to learn much more!! Thanks JudyJo...........Nancy

Hi Nancy, nice to hear from you I know where Altus is, was your son an airman i will keep in touch with you. you'll get a lot of snow there i have a brother that live in Gary Ind and sister& brother who live in Chicago , 12 years ago my husband was re-located to Ft Wayne Ind. and i never seen so much snow. Hst mean half square triangle, if you want to learn a lot about how to make quilts and their terminlogy join a quilting guild in your area. Go on internet type in quilting guilds in your state & city call and see when they meet if you work days ask them about a evening ,saturday,or monthly guild , you will learn so much.i have been quilting 3 years this Janruary and i still ask many question and ask for helpi attend every quilting show i can in my city and close around, i try to make any project that my group is making if it doesn't look good i have it quilted and learn from my mistake and try harder on the next project so far i've made 16 in 3yrs.i'm getting better, don't give up.

The quilts were done late, so I didn't get the picture done til "late"! Is that considered a *four* letter word?????? This is one of the three quilts completed. The fourth one is almost done, but my grandson has been extended in Iraq and I just am having a hard time completing it because my thoughts keep going to him and worrying.

Guess I should have mentioned, all the outside family squares are the ones that have pieces of clothing from family members in different states, FL, MA, CA, MN and which ever other state I may have forgotten. Last of the fabric (shirts mostly) came on Dec 8th. On that square is a picture of the family member(s) that contributed and where they are from.
