    Donna:
Wow! What a wonderful heirloom quilt you've created and it looks gorgeous. You really do nice work and you're so creative!! Thanks for sharing.

I have a nephew in Iraq now, too...his second tour of duty. We have NOT ceased praying for his and the safety of all our soldiers over there. We'll add your son to our prayer list.

Hi, Sounds like you are a busy quilter. You're projects sound very pretty and a little advanced for me. But am so glad to hear that you can wash with woolite instead of bubble jet rinse. I just now receive my bubble jet set 2000 and am anxious to get started on my projects with the pictures. Do you have pictures of your projects online? I would love to see something you did with the pictures made up in it. I did make my first rag quilt for xmas for my grandson. It was made of flannel and denim. It was really fast and turned out real well. He really liked it. I have made pillows with the pictures before, on the already prepared material sheets. I didn't care for the results to much. They say not to wash the item, but everyone I have gave them to does. They turn out ok, but material is stiff. Thanks allot for your reply.

My computer was slow in getting this picture. The quilt is beautiful. Where did you get the idea for this quilt? Your border around middle picture really makes it stand out. I have never crazy quilted yet, but looks like I need to start. Did you machine quilt the finished quilt or hand quilt?

Donna, that quilt is absolutely beautiful!!! What a nice idea and everyone that you made is truely an heirloom and one of a kind. Your family members must be so pleased and proud to have one of these quilts.

Okay, as of exactly one year ago today, I have been actually making more than just squares. I received my copy of EQ5 on my birthday last year and started making designs. First I made an Attic Windows quilt for my great grandson, then a crazy patch tote for my friend who was retiring. The Attic Windows is a block in EQ5 so I just had to find the instructions for putting it together on the net. The crazy patch was also a block, but I re-designed some of them. Now I had to find instructions for foundation piecing. I ended up going to the local quilt shop "The Cotton Patch" for help with that. I have sewn all my adult life, and before, so it was relatively easy for me to figure out how to put blocks and sashing together.

I got the idea for crazy patch from my aunt who made sleeping bags and quilts in that style (all hand done). Mine are tied, cuz I haven't come to the point of machine quilting yet. Now that friend, I made the tote bag for, was wonderful and bought me a Little Gracie II. I did try it out with some throw pillow covers and can not wait til I can do more.

I did design the crazy patch in EQ5, scanned all my fabrics into the program and layed it out. Not all squares on screen match, fabric wise, the actual quilt, but it gave me a darn good idea of what I was getting. The design came progressively, changing it here and there, but it was all in my head.

My friend took me to lunch today, for my birthday, and I mentioned the fact that you were willing to make her a tote in trade of a Little Gracie II, she said she doesn't need another tote, sorry. She got a good laugh out of it though.
