I usually donate quilts to the "Saturday Quilters" group at the church my Mom belongs to. Originally she was an ABC quilts area coordinator, but when funding waned, ABC became part of Project Linus. Now this small group continues to make the same types of quilts for the same target group (At-risk Babies & Children), and donates to the same area hospitals. It's convenient for me because I can just drop things off to Mom, and not necessarily participate in their meetings. In addition, I have donated larger, more "special" quilts to the same church, to be sold during their annual quilt show, to raise money for supplies for the Saturday Quilters. This year I am donating 2 quilts to an Alzheimer's study group I heard of through AARP magazine. Besides it being another worthy cause, I had some fabric that just wasn't right for the children's quilts, so I wanted a charity aimed at adults.

Isn't retirement grand???!!!!
I made my first QFK quilt this winter. And yes, retirement is wonderful! I've been semi-retired for a year and a half...still tutor part-time at the local elementary school.
