Hello, What is a wonder cut ruler? What blocks do you use to make with it? Where do you find one? Thanks...

I'm with Grace, I think the Log Cabin is my favorite too and I've made several, sold 2 and gave one as a gift. I'm now gathering material for another Log Cabin but this one will be Log Cabin Star. This pattern is in Quilter's Cache site.

My all time favorite block is the Dresden Plate. It's easy, gorgeous and after the "plates" are made, you can learn a bit about applique by putting the plates on a larger square of background fabric and applique the plate to that larger square. It makes a lovely quilt. Besides the 2 pictures I'm attaching, my avatar picture is also another Dresden Plate that I've added a stem and leaves so they Plate looks like a flower.

my first block was the log cabin. Card tricks, honey bee.. That was the easiest for me.

I get obsessed with the corners matching. So, any stresses me..
The engineer in me.. geometry geometry.. obsession !

I do not, not ever criticize about the corners matching. not a policeman. Just a neurotic thing about myself.

I wish I could do the curves as easily as others. That is my hang up.

I absolutely love Snowball alternated with other easy blocks. Snowball and Nine Patch and Snowball and Ohio Star are lovely combinations that are not complex but give a nice movement to a quilt. Playing with matching/contrasting colors in the corners of the blocks leads to different looks.
