Default What is your favorite pattern using fat quarters?

I have a selection of fat quarters that I would like to use but I haven't found a pattern that I really want to use. Any suggestions?

If you gave good contrast with the fat quarters and a background fabric, Disappearing Hourglass makes a nice quilt.

My traditional go to is the Ohio Star -- if you have good contrast.

I love using white or gray with fat quarters. I'm particularly taken with blocks that have crosses in them. The Fat Quarter Shop has a lot of really neat patterns that are free.

I've made Crossed Paths....like a rail fence but bigger pieces.

I have a great pattern for a travel/makeup bag that calls for 4 fq's. Love it!

Let us know what you decide!

Look for a pattern called Sunshine and Shadow. I love this one for FQs, several blocks from a pair of FQs. Some people may call this Path Through the Woods and I think that is the more correct name for the block. The pattern is in an old American Patchwork and Quilting magazine.

ube, I have to comment on your cool design wall. What a great way to have space to work on more than one project.

I recently cut all my fat quarters (between 400 and 600...I gave up counting) into 5" squares and strips. Using the squares to make half square triangles, and I'm amazed by the number of patterns that call for nothing else but these and a few strips. Made a couple of table runners so far and now a Christmas tree skirt. Hundreds of squares to use up yet!
