Default What are your leaders made of?

I made leaders for my longarm frame and I used muslin. I am not happy with them because they sometimes bunch up a bit or stretch a bit. I want them to be more accurate. I sewed a measuring tape to them and that is how I know they bunch up, because the tape doesn't lay flat. What have others made their leaders out of. I think I want to make new ones. I think they need to be from heavier fabric.

They're usually made from canvas or cotton duck.

Hopefully they're made of strong moral fiber.

fairly heavy cotton canvas- no stretch- hold up for years- you can them with centering lines-
    muslin is just too thin-flimsy-
a heavy-stable-even weave fabric is a better choice- like canvas- or heavy cotton duck - even a good heavy denim---although that's getting expensive- canvas tends to be fairly affordable.

my leaders are a tightly woven polyester something. i got it because it didn't stretch and it has horizontal lines to keep things lined up.

I love this answer!! Too funny. Well I checked the Joanns ad and they had cotton duck on sale 50% off and I had a 15% coupon of anything on sale so I just went and picked some up. Thanks for all the advice!

Ghostrider, ha, I looked at your answer and had to think for a second. Great answer, but I doubt if ours are made of strong moral fiber. Good answer!
