I have sewed all my life (almost), had four girls (all involved in theater) so I have made almost anything you need for a performance. My girls always volunteered me. I have done upholstery, drapes, toys, wedding gowns, hats, bridesmaid dresses, etc. Recently I made a cover for my husbands bike seat out of a faux leather. I made pocket hangers before they became popular. Sure wish I had copyrighted my ideas. I made one to hang in the middle of the tent with a mirror and another to hang over the back seat with pockets for crayons, books, etc. for my then 7 year old on the long road trip from NY to CA. One of the halloween costumes I made that was the most fun was Darth Vader.

The most unusual thing that I ever made was tooth fairy pillows for the kids that had a special pocket for the tooth to go in.
Take a seam ripper to an old cap and you've got as pattern.

Found a novelty item pictured somewhere that was a hoot, about 30 years ago. A ball warmer (for guys) I made several one Christmas for gag gifts.
I made those also so maybe we will both get kicked off!! It was in the 70's. Had a lot of laughs over them. Even altered the size (up and down) for jokes.
That was the fun part. My BIL thinks he's the most important person in the world. Needless to say, his was small.

to date, I've probably made a 100 or so tote bags from pants, some from skirts. Could be more. I never kept count.

$40????????????? you've got to be kidding! Takes about a half yard of material. Unless it's something terribly elaborate.

My neighbor has sleep apnea.

so she has a special machine she uses every night.
there is a long tube for air flow to it.
she says the cold air wakes her up all night .
so I made a real thick polar fleece cove for the tube.
that did the trick; now she sleeps.

I made a sling for a teddy bear whose owner had a sling as a result of a fall and a broken collar bone.

I made lure coursing blankets. (they're not actually blankets, they're what the dog wears to let the judges know who they are, by color, way on the other side of the field)
