steamer, don't use water in iron. I have a sprayer if need be. I also finger press

I use to steam then found I also had to trim more. Now I don't steam and don't trim. The steam distorts the fabric for me. Perhaps I don't know how to iron?

I've been taught that steaming can distort the fabric, but it was a hard lesson for me to learn. I can see how using steam and moving the iron across the fabric can move the fibers from each other.
I've seen fabric so messed up from "ironing" that the quilt was very much out of whack when it shouldn't have been.
