Default Does any body have a Flynn quilt frame?

My friend is looking for an affordable way to do FMQ. Only she is tired of fighting the fabric. Does anybody have one of these? They look so neat and might do the job.

I was looking at that yesterday. DH says he can make me one for cheap, so holding out and giving him the chance to prove it

These have been a topic here several times in the past and I believe the consensus of opinion was that they were not that great. Do a search and you will find all the other posts.

I have one and use it a lot. It took practice but I'm glad I stuck with it. It's not for fancy machine quilting but it's great for general all over quilting. I know many people buy the frame but give up using it. I kept plugging along thinking this isn't working at all, but a light went off one day of Hey this is how it's done! I use a six foot table with the machine in the middle so I have lots of room on each end. By the way, John Flynn uses YLI machine quilting thread and a Janome machine when demoing at his vendor booth. I use a Brother 1500 and any thread that doesn't break at the time.

I tried the frame at one of his demos.. It wasn't hard to do.. I love the idea, but I have no room for it.. I live in an apartment, and it's not an option
