My Mom has lost a piece of her New Home machine..it is the piece you screw onto the shaft and then attach a foot. Anyone have any idea how to proceed to find one of these..I need to get the model number tho. My Mom is 92, but still likes to sew.

do you have a place near you that repairs all brands of sewing machines. Otherwise try a search for New Home machines surely there will be a place there to ask questions about parts.
There is a shop near me that probably has the piece as they have a room full of older machines they keep for parts.

Here's a link to a sewing machine parts site. It says they have new home machine parts.

http://www.a1sewingmachine.com/parts.html

Good luck!

On one of my older machines I mislaid that screw and believe it or not a screw from an old Computer did the trick. It was the ones that you screw in to hole the casing in place.

Did a search for you and this may solve your problem as it seems to have a number of screws: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...373#vi-content

And this site looks very helpful, just email them: http://www.a1sewingmachine.com/partslist.html

I hope you get it sorted as your Mum will be used to her own machine.

You are right about her wanting her own machine..someone offered her one but she said "no, I am used to my own machine". The a1 site looks real promising. Thanks to all for your responses. I Googled, but the a1 site did not come up.
