Where do you starch?

I went to Joann fabrics and bought 2 yards of the teflon material and put that over my ironing broad, just layed it on top, when I am sewing. Anything I spray gets sprayed on that so when I have to iron I take it off and my cover is good.

I have started soaking my fabric in a bowl with the concentrated starch that I mix up. if there is a little piece that needs to be starched i just use a small bowl or spray on the ironing board. but lately most the time i use the bowl method. it makes things go faster and less work and pain in my hands. used to spray in the bathroom but got tired of hubby complaining about the mess.

I don't use spray starch, I use the one Hancock's carries,in an atomizer bottle. That helps control where the starch goes. I also use a pillowcase over my ironing board. Easy to wash and dry, unlike a towel.
