I was in desperate need of some white tone on tone fabric today so went to the only place in our town to buy fabric...Hobby Lobby. I was shocked at how thin theirs is compared to what I used to buy at JoAnns. Where is a good place to buy on line where I can actually see the design on the fabric?

Can be so hard to judge white on whites on line, my main two places to go is Fields, a small chain based in Michigan and eQuilter. I found it hard to see the patterns and not many options with the main sort:

eQuilter has a nice sort and you can see the patterns especially when you bring up close up:

I know I have the Timeless Treasures Spirograph option and I was very happy with the quality/thickness of that piece. It is a large scale.

I am a big fan of P&B Textiles White on white. Here is a link to Keepsake Quilting 's grouping - I find the pattern I like then go on a search for a good price

There are two fabric websites that I recall show the white on white design in gray -- wish I could remember which ones! I'm pretty sure one is Fabric Shack, one of my favorite vendors and quick to ship.

As I don't really have any fabric stores around me that have much to choose from, I tend to head online to Quilted Twins or Marshalls Dry Goods. I've never received a bad piece of fabric from either one of them and their prices are great most times.

I love the Glow in the Dark white fabric from the Fairy Frost line of Michael Miller. The GITD is only supposed to last about 12 washings, and it is still going strong on my pixel Nautilus quilt. In the daylight, it looks regular. I order from Shabby Fabrics. I just love the whole line!

I buy WOW fabric from Marshall's. I live close enough to go look and choose. I find Moda Bella solids thin and aren't they supposed to be high quality? Long ago I went to a fabric workshop of sorts. WOW was a topic. Look closely at design. It could be plastic stamped on the white fabric, not woven. Most quilting cottons were made with the stamped process. Sometimes this fabric will cause stitching problems. I always look now. I think the stamped fabric has improved from back then.
