Kaye Wood has a "six hour quilt" pattern which is strips and it's cute if done in the right "kid" fabrics. Love it and it's done on the serger (can be done on regular machine) with very little quilting necessary.

Use panels to suit the kids. Bless you for doing this, I know the kids will be so happy.

You can over-enlarge one block so it is all you need for a quilt! They look great and can be done in a short amount of time. Bless you for what you are doing!

I have a simple pattern for a fleece blanket with fringe--no sewing required. You could make several of them in a day. However, you're getting a lot of ideas. I would need to scan in my pattern, but I'd be happy to do it if you're interested. Just PM me.

The Downy Quilts for Kids website also has some easy patterns that go together quickly.

I would need a lot of notice for that many quilts!

Kay woods showed on for Project Linus a few years ago.Lay your backing down, face down and put your batting on it then add the top layer, face up. You can use large blocks or just appropriate fabric in one piece(whole cloth) Then you sew from edge to edge in a row about four to six inched wide then another and another. Is this as clear as mud?

Disappearing 9 patch. You can make the same blocks using different fabric; just 2 fabrics or 3 fabrics (makes the pattern look different each; and there are 5 different layouts. Simple block using strip method; fast and great end result. I have pictures of 5 different layouts I can send on PM to you if you email me.
