I don't know if this is in reference quilting and embroidering. I was looking for this particular ruler and found it, it helps to put your embroidery design right in the middle and you can cut your square right away. Lets just be straight forward it is the best Fussy Cut Ruler. I got one as a gift for Me from Me. Here is the name of the site www.CraftyBev.com
Be sure to check out the video to and I got the Big Sister 3 in 1 Fussy Cut, and I even got my name engraved, great for classed ruler is not ever leaving without me.

I have an old wooden yardstick with 0 in the center.

I can see where it would be helpful - but it isn't that big of a deal to me to use a regular ruler for centering.

I do find it helpful to use a number that ends with a zero as my starting point though.

I use one all the time for fussy cutting center squares for novelty blocks and for my needlework projects. www.craftybev.com has two sizes of center-finding rulers, depending on the size of your projects.

This is what my friend Cindi uses on her longarm. Not only does it help her make sure the quilt is centered, it also helps her ensure it stays straight as she rolls it. I gotta get one!

See how she has the pink markers on the tape lined up with the corners of the blocks:
