Who is using silks in a quilt?

I am working on a Tumbling Block Quilt that my sister-in-law started and gave me a few years before she pasted away. She was doing out of silk and neckties in 1 1/2 inch diamonds. I am going to put white, then black around hers, to make it show up good. I am using 2 inch diamonds for mine. They are also silk solid's that run up and down with necktie diamonds on the sides. Her solid's run side to side. This is really time consuming. I will be able to post a picture when I'm threw with it.
