No, it's based on the tube quilting technique. Hard to tell from my drawing I know, lol. This might be beyond my skill level but I'm going to give it a shot.
This is so great, thank you wildyard

dsb38327 this is a great idea, I love to look at quilty photos. Anything from a pic of fabrics to be used all the way to the finished product including any OOPS and how you solved them. I am getting ready to start quilting again after many years away from the craft, I am going to ask for a camera for my birthday in April then I will send in photos. Until then I look forward to seeing all of this groups pics. Happy quilting.

I would like to see more works in progress. One of the things I love about the Quilting Forum are the pictures that everyone puts on.

    Excellent idea! Count me in.

I like looking at wip's, because I am a visual learner.

I would so much like to see the work in progress photos. I believe it is possible more members do not show the work in progress photos because they think few of us want to see them.

dsb38327: Would like to see tons of work in progress photos.
Okay! Sister, I am working on my first Friendship Star block:) Here is my work in progress and my finished block. I see my mistakes and plan to keep this as one on my treasures:)
I cut one 2 1/2 square of dark fabric for my center.
I cut two 2 7/8 squares of dark fabric for the star.
I cut four 2 1/2 of light color fabric for my corners.
I cut two 2 7/8 of light color fabric for the star.
Then I pressed it with my iron. Then to my machine and you see what I came out with:) This has to be done with a scant stitch and this was my first time for that:)

    Joan........one question...

wouldn't it have been easier to make the squares for the stars by doing HST (half square triangles).it looks in your pictures that you cut triangles and then joined them.

Just a thought for an easier method.......
