I like your idea. Your colors are very pretty. How large/size do you cut your strips? What size square will you use.?

#1...section E in progress
#2...all 5 pieces to the block
#3...the block put together

Now I will add a very narrow border and a little wider one.
bind it and I think that I will frame it.....
