I like the idea using pink, it should go with the shirts. Recycling is good, not for me. I am in the process of using up my quilt scraps. That is as close to recycling as I get. Our clothes are of poly blends and my Husband wears out all his clothes before discarding them. I donate any that is useful, most of mine get donated.

Just a thought about using buttons on quilts. I made my daughter a crazy/strip quilt that had some buttons and she complained that they hurt if you sat on it and they're not good up under your chin. If it's for hanging/display then it wouldn't matter.

I don't have the books, but Bonnie Hunter has two books with patterns specifically for using shirts and recycling clothes. She shows several ideas of using even the cuffs and collars I think.

I have a bag of my Dad's shirts that I want to make a quilt out of. Thanks for the link to the Bread and Butter pattern. That has possibilities.

My friend and her DH just retired. She said she saved about 30 of his dress shirts that he got rid of. She said there were also several bags they took to charity.
