Default Wholecloth quilt out of antique cutwork tablecloth

For those that have done this, how do you back the cut work so the batting doesn't show through?

    Thanks, Watson

I haven't done it, but I watched Cindy Needham's Craftsy class where she talks about it. She uses fabric behind the cutwork. I think she specifically mentioned using Radiance Silk by Kaufman. It's an excellent class - Machine Quilting Wholecloth Quilts.

Another plug here for Cindy Needham's Craftsy classes. She does beautiful work using antique lace, cutwork, etc. As Dunster said she backs her cutwork with another fabric before she sandwiches it for quilting.

Kelly Cline also backs the cut work with fabric. I have found RJR Radiance (a silk/cotton blend) at both Angela Walter's website and eQuilter.
