I make all my sampler quilts to be used. Every month my guild does a new block using various techniques we try to do them with the same fabric and in very little time have enough blocks for a quilt. This has really helped our new quilters along with us oldies!

I think they make beautiful bed quilts. :D:D:D

I like samplers, because if I decide I don't like making one of the blocks, I know ahead of time rather than after starting on a quilt with it.

Definitely put it on your bed to show off all your lovely work.

i had never heard of a sampler quilt just being for the walls, the 12 sampler quilts i have made to date are all on beds...but then, i make quilts for beds, i never quite got the whole wall quilt thing (although i have made a couple that turned into drapes (window coverings)

Mine is big enough for a LARGE lap quilt, almost twin size, but a few inches smaller..I will never use it, but i keep it as a symbol of what i learned.

No one is going to keep me from using it on the bed if I feel like it.

Samplers are great because they allow you to try new techniques and difficult blocks while allowing you to fill in with simple and easy blocks!

Ever been in a block swap? Great way to make a sampler.

Thanks for all your opinions. To tell the truth, I did not know at all if they could be used on bed; I thought that they could be used as lap quilts or as a throw on a sofa. I am very glad to hear all what you think on the subject and from now on, I will definitely put mine on my bed... when they are finished!!
