I don't know about you, but I am shocked at some of the prices advertised for vintage machines on ebay.

Are they really expecting to get that amount of money for this, it looks like it needs a great deal of tender love and care.

This comes up often. You can ask any outrageous price you want. Doesn't mean you're going to get it, or that it's "worth" it.

Some people don't pay any attention to what the machines are actually selling for...they get some crazy idea of what it's "worth" and think they are going to get it.

I hope they get a reality check when they don't sell the machine. Probably not, though, as if they are not bright enough to do their homework beforehand, they probably won't do it at all.

That one looks like it didn't sell ... I replied to previous post then too. Many sewing machines could have the same story, but I doubt anyone will pay the asking price.

they all think they have a priceless antique instead of realizing these machines are a dime a dozen.

i've gotten 6 of my vintage singers free from freecycle and the other 2 i paid for cost $25 and the FW was $75.

I have so far paid $25 for a 66 red eye and $25 for a 15-91, which is why I was shocked at some of the prices I saw online.

A machine is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I never seem to find the good bargains. When I finally can't stand not having a FW, I might be willing to pay a few hundred dollars for it. If it is in excellent condition. But until then, this makes me laugh!
