Windmill Top Complete- Yes / no to border??
I love how this top turned out, not sure on finale border, it calls for a 6 1/2" border I have this contrasting fabric same line black on black but this one has some white in it, would you use this? I don't have enough fabric to do all border the same, I'd need to use the two fabric's in the quilt and a smaller border? What do you think?? Thanks for the help.

For me, this quilt just wants a simple black binding, using the same fabric as the black you have already used.
I'd consider a winder than normal binding, at 1/2" to 1".
Let your pieced design in the centre be the star of the show!

Thank you that is a great ideal, just have to tell the quilter not to trim even with the quilt.

Maybe tell your longarmer to NOT trim the quilt - at all!
The one and only quilt I sent out, the quilter trimmed it closer than I would have. And on the pillow shams where it did not matter, she left two inches around the tops!

A small black border would be very nice. I would not introduce the fabric with the white into it because the eye of the viewer would always be drawn to the white. I think, personally, that it would distract from the wonderful fabrics you have in the windmill pattern.
