Brother Pe 700II (NOW DISCONTINUED)

So I just called to find out some information on the Brother Pe 700II, and it has been discontinued. Which is a maijor drawback for me.
I was told by Brother that only the PE 700II will allow me to import and use the Disney cards, and has direct conection to the computer as the PE 770 will not.
Does anyone have the PE 770 and download Disney designs and use them on it? not purchased from Brother.
We in Canada now have the Pe780D which is a disney machine, but it is $1300 Canadian, where as the Pe 700 is $699 USD. I don't think I can justify spending the $1300 Canadian. Because If I spend the $699 USD I can get the Grand Slam Package for $199 and the extra hoops for $49.99 and shipping for $80. Which to me seams like a better deal. ?????
