I bought a little lightweight folding table (19" long?) at Walmart that I take to Camp Retreat with me for sewing. I have very short legs and sitting at a dining table is just too uncomfortable for me. You can fold it up and slide it under a dresser or bed when you aren't using it.....better than nothing.

My first "sewing room" was a closet in the bedroom that had shelves for my supplies on top and to the side. If I needed space behind the machine, I had to pull the folding table out.

I have to sew in my bedroom because there is really no where else to do it. I bought a folding table and place my machine at one end and use the other end for cutting, etc. It isn't the greatest arrangement but it does work, at least for now. I too, miss my sewing room that I had in Mn. Move back, don't think so~so I guess I will have to put up with my 6 ft. sewing table which I can take down when necessary. Hang in there, maybe you could use an extra bedroom or a small corner or something.
