Unhappy Wonder Cut Ruler

Love this ruler but here's my problem. The pattern calls for 4 5/8" strips that will be cut into HSTs. Can the wonder cut ruler be used. Thanks.

Looks like the ruler is set up for specifically sized finished HSTs that fall on the inch or half inch measurement. What size triangle are you trying to make? Cutting 4 5/8" strips could yield different size HSTs depending on what they want you to do with the strips once they've been cut.

I am finally getting up the nerve to try the Labyrinth. Fabrics 1-6 are to be cut into 4 5/8" strips and then sub-cut into 4 5/8" squares. The squares are then put into combinations to make HST. I am so used to the wonder cut ruler for HSTs and then go stumped with this one. The instructions give directions for the way I used to make HSTs - drawing a diagonal line then sewing 1/4" away from each side of the line. Wonder ruler made my life so much easier. Hope this makes sense. Thank you.

From the looks of the ruler it won't work for the size you need. So the answer to your question is no.

It pays to keep up with the new, but also to remember the past! I would go back to the old way for this one, but only make the first one or two and while doing that, you might think of a way to convert it to the ruler. If not, you've at least made a start on it. Shiree.
