Default Wool pressing mat.

I got a gift certificate for Christmas so I want to buy a wool pressing mat but I can’t decide which size to buy. When I sit at my machine, my ironing board is right in front of me. It is only about 15 inches wide so the 17X17 would be too wide. The 13.5 X 13.5 is awfully small. Any advice?

Where is the gift certificate from? The size of the man depends on what you will be using it for. If for pressing as you piece the small One would work fine. You can cut these maps with a rotary cutter.

If the largest one is in the budget, GET IT! You won't be sorry... I actually have 2 -- without getting up, I would guess one is about 15" square, and the large is 17 x 24. I tend to sew in the living room with my temporary table set up, and I use the bathroom counter to iron on.

i have a small wool pressing mat. it works well for pieces and blocks up to about 12.5" square. anything larger than that I use my regular ironing surface or i just shift the fabric around as needed. get the biggest one you can, but do not despair if it is only a small one.

I have 14*17. Fits perfect on my ironing board. Great deals on e-bay.

I have the 17x17 and do use it on my ironing board and works just fine. I like using my clapper, too. The two are a great combination.

I just got the 14x 28. It fits nicely on my ironing board, still leaving one end for a 14 x 14 cutting station and the other end for my iron.

I have a 14x14" and just love it. I have no regrets on its size. I mostly make blocks 12" or smaller, anything bigger I can move it around on this size mat. Love my wool mat.

I jumped on the wool pressing mat band wagon a few months ago and love mine. I have two (14x13 and 18x12). I purchased mine from love-sew.com. They are made of 100% New Zealand wool. Just don’t get them wet, or they will smell like a barnyard. I think you’ll love using one.
