Where are you planning to add the stabilizer? Behind the main fabric? What type of stitch are you planning to use on the applique pieces?
I am making a small wall hanging and did not add stabilizer. I used a small zig zag stitch instead of satin or blanket stitches.

Small wall hangi
I thought no stabilizer since it was not a big deal with zigzag but someone said you should always use a stabilizer. I thought i didn’t need one but figured I wold ask!LOL

When I was making the Affairs of the Heart quilt, I experimented doing them with and without stabilizer, and liked doing it with stabilizer so much better - but that has a lot of tight curves and I was doing satin stitching. I do find that with stabilizer underneath, I can get smoother curves as it helps to reduce the traction of the feeddogs.
