I would like your advice on a Brothers Embroidery Sewing Machine. I do not have the room for a large machine and I am thinking of buying a small Brothers Embroidery Machine. I do not know how to embroidery on a machine so I am wondering if this would be a good starter for me. I just want to monagram and learn how to do a little more. Has anyone had one of these machines and can you advise me.

15 years ago i started with a bernina deco, which was made by brother. it's a small, 4"x4" capability embroidery machine. I will say, that little machine was a workhorse! a few years later, i upgraded to a babylock ellure, which has a 5x7 area. have never progressed further (ie needing a bigger machine). I have not looked at the new lower priced brothers, but gut tells me it is alot like their older machines. I would buy one if i was just getting into it!

Brother makes a great embroidery machine! It is a great place to start. It's more about needles, thread, and stabilizers than the machine itself. You can always post questions....maybe we might have the answer!!

Yahoo has a group for owners of Brother embroidery machines too that you might find helpful.

Love my SE270D and PE700II. Bought the SE270D first. It is a combo machine and small. Have had very little problems with either one. Both of mine were refurbished which saved me about $100 per machine. The only thing I wish is that mine used the Flash Drive so my laptop didn't have to be positioned near them. I think now you can get the lower priced ones that uses the Flash Drive.
