I think you're on to something.....taste changes. Sometimes if you re-purpose fabric, with a different color wave or just as you said a 2 color quilt (I'm real partial to white as the other fabric).....it looks like a totally different fabric.

My DH encourages me to build up my stash and teases me that he has no problem with massive amounts of fabric on hand as long as I live long enough to make it up. When I buy more, he says "good, how much longer are you going to have to live to get it made up?" I will never see bare shelves in my stash--Never!

I am right there in the same boat with you. I've been working on organizing, too. I have found some wonderful surprises.
