I love yellow in quilts. I couldn't believe it when I first read that a lot of professional quilt makers never use yellow because it's too hard to use. "What a load of rot" I thought. My psychiatrist tells me I have a defiant nature, so maybe that's why a lot of my quilts have yellow in them. (I'm not crazy, I see her so I stay sane.)

I like how you incorporated the blues and yellows in your quilt. Is this just a scrappy quilt or did you follow a pattern?

So many quilts with the idea to use yellow within them. Hope no one minds, I would like to make a quilt similar to the ones I just viewed.

Awesome quilts! I also cannot "wear" yellow, so for years I had forgotten how much I like the color because I totally shied away from it. Then I discovered that I still love it, just not in my clothing! As color in the landscape, what is more beautiful than a patch of yellow flowers or the yellow leaves of fall? In a quilt, the same... it is a perfect pop of color in so many quilts as you have all proven! Thanks for sharing your pics.

Here's my bargello work in progress with yellow... which really brightens it up!

    CindyBee,

I just love your cat quilt. Where can I get the pattern that you used.

When my mother tried to donate it, I rescued it to my care. I was shocked when she told me it had been in the "trunk" & I thought she meant the car trunk. Thankfully it was not treated that disrespectfully! I have had no luck getting the stains out. Any suggestions out there? Your quilt is beautiful, as are sooo many on this site. I love to see all the personal ideas of each different artist.
Not sure how I've managed to keep them nice in the cedar chest. It was my grandma's chest that she stored her quilts in and her mom, and so on. I haven't seen any stains on any of the quilts which I'm happy about. But I'm glad you got to save your quilt!

I often use yellow in my quilts. I made a baby blanket with baby blue and yellow that was great. Unforunately until I started on this board I did not think of taking pictures.
