I'm trying to finish a quilt I stopped working on 2 years ago. Theres 2 diff. fabrics I need more of.
I looked in the local fabric stores and couldn't find any.
So I came home and looked at the selvedges for the manufacturer info and got on the computer.
One I found, at Bernatex.com, although their website doesn't have a way to buy the fabric. So I'll have to find it in another store online hopefully..
But the second fabric I need has no info along its selvedges. No color dots, no manufacturer, etc.
I'd never noticed that before.
How can I find out who manufactured this fabric?
And I thought all fabric makers put the info along the selvedges?

I have several that do not have any info, and a couple that only have a name and "printed exclusively for" but not enough info to do a easy search if I needed additional pieces.

The Bernatex fabric's info is:
the Classically Home "Aspen" collection by Marianne Elizabeth.
#2916-72 Poppies Pumpkin
That's what it says on the selvedge.
(although the website says that's the old item number.
The new # is 291672B)
I sure wish I could just buy it through the Bernatex website. How odd that they don't let you.

I'll have to try to upload a picture of them (easier said than done...lol)
Here's a pic I found online of one of the fabrics but I can't find anyplace to buy it!!!
Apparently they only sell to stores. Grrr!

I have a ton of fabric that doesn't have any selvedge info. Gggggrrrr!!!

I hope you can post a pic and someone here can help. Even with info, if it's so out of date, by manufacturers timeline, the strongest possibility is someone may have it in their stash. Hope it turns up. Wish I had some to help.

I always start all my fabric searches with Quiltshops.com. I have ordered online from a bunch of these shops. Since the search always returns a bunch of shops that have a fabric I am looking for I can quickly compare prices. Here's the link-
http://www.quiltshops.com/

Don't use the "item search" on the page that comes up, that one will give you thumbnails of just fabric. Click on the "item search" on the top of the links on the left of the page, that will give you a list of shops and all the fabric within your search criteria. I find it gives me a greater chance of hitting what I am looking for. Just put in Aspen and see what happens.

Good Luck. :)

Try this or just do a Google search to see if you can get it at a lower price elsewhere.

I guess after looking at this again the real issue is that some selveges have no info. I don't have an answer for that. I have run into that problem a couple times. Makes me crazy!
